Ontario Electricity Support Program, Central Hub
- Description
- Program that lowers electricity bills for low-income households
- provides a monthly credit to eligible customers based on household income and household size
- credits will be applied directly to eligible customers' electricity bills
- an applicant may qualify for both this program and the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
- Eligibility
- Electricity account holders in Ontario
- Call or visit the website to confirm criteria
- Credit amount depends on how many people live in the house and the combined household income after tax
- If a client's home is electrically heated, or they rely on medical devices requiring a lot of power, OESP offers a higher level of assistance
- First Nations and Métis also qualify for a higher level of assistance
- Application Process
- If an applicant and other members of their household (18-74 years old) have filed taxes once in the last two years, they can apply through the website, complete the online application

- If an individual and other members of their household (18-74 years old) have not filed taxes once in the last two years, they can apply with the help of an intake agency
- Ontarians needing in-person support with an online application will also be supported by local intake agencies
