Description
Guelph Food Bank works to provide much needed support to individuals and families within the community who struggle with basic needs, predominantly by distributing emergency food supports to those requiring assistance. We also work to support other agencies doing complimentary work within the city by providing monthly food offers to supplement some programming costs.

Food & Distribution Programs:
  • Emergency Food Hamper Program
  • Community Excess Program
  • Agency Distribution Program
  • Local Disaster Relief
  • Waste reduction Offers a variety of other support programs including Job and Placement Programs, Help With Skills Programming, (i.e. school co-ops, peer work programs, budget counselling, etc)
  • Also runs a Clothing Exchange (open to the public), Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program, and a Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)
Eligibility
Anyone faced with financial hardship may register with the Guelph Food Bank for assistance.
Application Process
New clients are required to bring:
one piece of identification ;
proof of address (bills or mail with applicant's name sent to that address) ;
proof of income for applicant and any other adults in the household (pay stubs, EI cards, etc) ;
proof of expenses (rent, mortgage).

NOTE: Singles can access the service twice per month; households of 2 or more people can access once per month. Office hours Mon-Fri 9 am-4 pm.
