- Description
- Elective, group-based program specializing in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia and bipolar disorder.
Includes a comprehensive orientation and assessment period followed by an intensive treatment program. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is used extensively in conjunction with Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Behavioural Activation/Exposure Therapies. Biological interventions may also be used and include repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and pharmaceutical management.
Expressive therapy options including creative arts, horticulture, recreation and music are built into a well-rounded program schedule. - Eligibility
- Have a primary diagnosis of a depressive disorder and/or an anxiety disorder (generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia).
- Be ready to engage in a group-based treatment program.
- Be willing to be involved in an active program schedule.
