- Description
- Outpatient clinic that performs overnight sleep studies to screen for various sleep problems and disorders.
Following analysis of the sleep study, the Sleep Physician reviews the results with the patient. A second study may be necessary if the patient requires treatment for breathing problems (sleep apnea). If diagnosed with sleep apnea, the most common treatment is a CPAP machine used at night to help maintain breathing.
NOTE: sleep studies are generally not indicated for insomnia. - Eligibility

- Contact Family Physician for a referral to a Sleep Physician. The Sleep Physician will schedule an initial consultation and/or book a sleep study at the Sleep Lab.

For treatment - Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP) covers approximately 75% of the cost of a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine and supplies.
