- All civil proceedings in Ontario are heard by the Superior Court of Justice. Civil cases are brought before the court following the Rules of Civil Procedure (filing an action or application). Examples of Civil court hearings include:
- injury
- bankruptcy and insolvency cases
- litigation involving wills and estates
- Eligibility
- Individuals 18 years and younger must be accompanied by a legal guardian
NOTE: Claims valued under $35,000 must be submitted to the Small Claims Court - Application Process
