Description
Funds may be available to:
  • Assist with a missed rent payment that will lead to homelessness
  • Assist with last month's rent deposit for someone who is currently experiencing homelessness
Assistance is given as either a grant or a loan, depending on the situation. Applicants do not have to receive social assistance to be eligible.
Eligibility
Individuals may qualify for help with paying rent or securing new place with a rent deposit if all of the following apply:

  • Low income
  • At-risk of eviction or homeless, or currently experiencing homelessness
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Live in Waterloo Region; and
  • Rent is sustainable over the longer term

    Ages: 16 years and up
