Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Care Team
- Description
- Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Care Team provides care to survivors to help support their health, emotional and social needs
Services include:- specially trained team of nurses
- crisis intervention
- documentation and photographs
- physical examination and treatment of injuries
- testing and prophylaxis for sexually transmitted infections (STI), pregnancy and HIV
- collection of forensic evidence
- referrals to community agencies for counselling
- no charge for any services or medication
- police involvement not required
