Description

Provincial Rent Bank Program provides funding for rent arrears for people in danger of losing their accommodation. Ensures housing stability for those with short-term arrears who are facing eviction.

Fund can assist market rent tenants only. Provisions can be made for up to two months' rent and it will be paid directly to the landlord.

TENANTS CAN APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE ONCE EVERY TWO YEARS.

Eligibility

Low income residents of Guelph and Wellington County, including social assistance recipients (both Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Plan) and people with fixed incomes. Singles and families may apply for these programs. Tenants must have a notice of eviction from landlord, have rent arrears and qualify under established low income limits.

Application Process

Call for appointment for housing assistance. Application for Assistance (1A) and Consent Form (3) will be completed with each applicant; applicants required to provide verification of all sources of income, bank accounts, and a copy of the most current Revenue Canada return.
