Housing Services - Canada-Ontario Housing Benefit
- Description
Provides a direct, monthly benefit payment to eligible households to bridge the gap between affordable rent (roughly 30% of income) and some or all of average market rent
Benefit payments are:- based on household income and local market rent
- portable - benefits may be received even if moved to another address
Households who are approved to receive benefits under this program must consent to be removed from the social housing waiting list
- Eligibility
- Applicants must:
- be on the Lanark County Centralized Wait List or eligible to be on the wait list
- not be receiving rent-geared-to-income (RGI), the Lanark PHB, a housing allowance, rent supplement or other housing benefit
- not be a homeowner
- if on the RGI Waitlist and accept this program, applicant will be removed from the Wait List
- be on the Lanark County Centralized Wait List or eligible to be on the wait list

- Currently there is a waitlist for the COHB program. Contact Housing Services at 613-267-4200 ext. 2402 to be added to the waitlist.
Eligible households must be either:- on, or eligible to be on, the social housing waiting list, or
- living in social housing
- on, or eligible to be on, the social housing waiting list, or
