Lanark and Renfrew Immigrant Settlement Services
- Description
Free program supporting newcomers as they settle in Lanark and Renfrew Counties. Services include:
- needs assessment and settlement planning
- information and orientation, including community referrals
- case management
- in-school settlement workers
- group sessions and community events for newcomers, such as meetups, information sessions, and cultural orientation activities
- ESL circles available at some locations
Also provides volunteering opportunities to community members who wish to support newcomers
- Eligibility
- Newcomers residing in the counties of Lanark and Renfrew, including:
- permanent residents or individuals with pending permanent residence applications
- government-assisted and privately sponsored refugees
- Convention refugees
- temporary foreign worker or student who has obtained initial approval for a concurrent application for permanent residence
