Description

Free program supporting newcomers as they settle in Lanark and Renfrew Counties. Services include:

  • needs assessment and settlement planning
  • information and orientation, including community referrals
  • case management
  • in-school settlement workers
  • group sessions and community events for newcomers, such as meetups, information sessions, and cultural orientation activities
  • ESL circles available at some locations

Also provides volunteering opportunities to community members who wish to support newcomers

Eligibility
Newcomers residing in the counties of Lanark and Renfrew, including:
  • permanent residents or individuals with pending permanent residence applications

  • government-assisted and privately sponsored refugees

  • Convention refugees

  • temporary foreign worker or student who has obtained initial approval for a concurrent application for permanent residence
