Hospital-based outpatient day program with a focus on rehabilitation * patients are engaged in setting their treatment goals and are expected to participate in their assigned home program to help their full functional recovery * virtual care is also available upon request

Outpatient physiotherapy services include:

• in-person assessment and treatment by physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants
• preop and postop education
• goal setting and treatment planning
• individual and group exercise programming
• home exercise program

Knee replacement patients can start outpatient physiotherapy between 3-5 days after the surgery and can expect to participate in exercise classes twice per week for up to 6 weeks

Hip replacement patients can start outpatient physiotherapy between 2-4 weeks post surgery, and usually only need 2-4 visits

Patients who have had total joint replacement procedures (hip/knee) at THP or who reside in Mississauga Halton area

A referral from an orthopedic surgeon is required
* also accepts referrals from GTA Rehab Network and patients who did not have a surgery at THP
