  • made possible by the City of Barrie and the generosity of several local businesses that have provided either financial or in-kind donations
  • Nominees can be recognized for contributions in one of five areas:
    • Excellence in the Arts
    • Contribution to the Community
    • Emerging Artist
    • Most Promising Youth
    • Business Champion
    • Artist Beyond Barriers
The Arts Awards program was also the inspiration for the Poet Laureate program that rolled out in 2010 when the Department crowned it's first Poet Laureate, Dr. Bruce Meyer
