Ongoing peer support group "Why...?" Support After Suicide Loss is a 9-week scheduled group designed for individuals who are facing the challenges of traumatic grief after a family member or friend has died by suicide. Loss after suicide is considered complicated grief, and as such, it is more severe and longer-lasting. This group provides a cathartic experience and an opportunity for individuals to connect with others in an intimate manner. A variety of techniques including guided mourning, mindfulness, and client-centered approach to self-awareness and empathy will be explored. Each group is facilitated by professionals and provides a safe space to share and learn strategies for coping with loss and trauma. This support group is offered either virtually or in-person four times a year.
